Q. Why does the 2005 Personal Benefit Statement no longer provide projected numbers?
A. Since the benefit percentage went down in July 1, 2003and no one knows when better times will allow it to go up againthe Board of Trustees decided that the statement will no longer include projections of the benefits you earn in future years. Any projections shown on prior statements are also not valid since the benefit percentage went down.

Q. What about the projections in my previous Personal Benefit Statements? Are they valid?
A. All of your previous Personal Benefit Statements provided projected numbers for the benefits you earn up to age 65. Those projections assumed that the benefit percentage would not change during your working career. These projections are no longer valid since the benefit percentage is going down. Except for the projections, the other information printed on your prior statements is correct.
Q. I think the hours shown on my statement are not correct. What should I do?
A. Your statement shows the Plan's most recent record of last year's covered hours. Check with your employer and find out why all your hours may not be recorded. You can also contact your Local Union or Area Administrative Office.
Q. My benefit statement only shows my hours from last year. How do I check on hours from earlier years?
A. Write or call your Area Administrative Office and request a Work History Statement that shows all the covered hours paid on your behalf. Dont forget to provide your Social Security number
Q. I'm near retirement. Since there are no benefit projections on my statement, how can I estimate my retirement benefits?
A. You can request either a complete Estimate of Benefits or a list of your covered hours by year from your Area Administrative Office. Click below to see the charts that give you an idea of how much a year of covered work provides in future benefits.
